[Icemule Trace, Town Center]
The bustling town comes together in this square. Halflings dressed in varying fashions stand about, some chattering happily, others reclining on cloaks laid on the ground. One ancient halfling leans against the base of the large ice statue of a mule, snoring blissfully. A feeling of community pervades the area, putting you immediately at ease. You also see an emerald-eyed golden brown jaguar, the Drakam disk, the Guarrin disk, the Misun disk, a large spotted chameleon, a capricious glacier spirit that is flying around, the Teffor disk, a languid oak brown arashan, the Asenora disk, a vexatious tree spirit that is flying around, a blanket of snow and a carved ice bench with some stuff on it.

Nihala curtsies to Evelith.

Folding his left arm behind his back and dipping to one knee, Tollyfrock bows respectfully to Evelith and inclines his head.

Evelith snaps to attention and crisply strikes her chest with a closed fist in a display of respect to Nihala.

Evelith says, "It is always a pleasure to see you, Mayor." (to Nihala)

Exitialis asks, "What kinda meetin'?"

Nihala asks, "And you, dear. How goes the battle?" (to Evelith)

Meeshach asks, "You are not mayor?" (raspily, to Tollyfrock)

Nautemt says, "About the invasions Exitialis."

Evelith says, "We maintain constant vigilance." (to Nihala)

Tollyfrock grins at Meeshach.

Exitialis says, "Ahh."

Nilandia just arrived.

Nilandia takes a few steps back.

Nilandia quickly ducks behind Xiandrena.

Tollyfrock chuckles.

Xiandrena curtsies to Nilandia.

You say, "Lots of folks."

Nilandia smiles at Xiandrena.

Evelith kisses Xiandrena tenderly on the cheek.

Xiandrena gives Evelith a friendly hug.

Evelith nods to Xiandrena.

Asenora leans on her linden broomstick. The bristles bend slightly from her weight.

Tollyfrock says, "Thank ya fer attending." (to Evelith)

Ichiko faces Nihala and smartly brings her right fist up to her chest. Holding it there, she bows deeply.

You say, "Lots of animal critters here too."

Asenora says, "Evening, dream-walker." (to Evelith)

You chuckle.

Xiandrena says, "This isn't going to take too much of anyones time. We just learned a few things that we want to make everyone aware of."

Svort nods.

Tollyfrock agrees with Xiandrena.

Exitialis nods to Xiandrena.

Evelith nods to Xiandrena.

Olgretien turns an inquisitive ear towards Xiandrena.

Nautemt turns an inquisitive ear towards Xiandrena.

You stand back up.

You ask, "We going someplace?"

You ask, "Thought meeting was here?"

Stoniemeadow says, "Knock em dead sis...not literally." (to Xiandrena)

Xiandrena begins chuckling at Stoniemeadow!

Evelith grins at Stoniemeadow.

Xiandrena says, "We're gathering here."

Asenora says, "You thought correctly." (to you)

Tollyfrock nods.

Xiandrena says, "We're all here today because of a woman who has for months stood frozen north of Town Center."

You ask, "Who is she, this lady?"

Xiandrena recites:
"Lately she's been moving, and now she stands west of the Town Center. Ever since her arrival we've had many messages drawn into the snow by tiny hands. Ever since her arrival our townfolk have been set upon by other trusted citizens of our town. The deputy has attacked townfolk and told us stories of riots and deaths in the prison. Every time we've tried to check the jail outside North Gate we've found nothing."

Xiandrena recites:
"The courier, priestess and now even the gnome barker have either warned us, attacked us or...gone crazy.. for lack of a better word."

Evelith gazes at Xiandrena.

Tollyfrock agrees with Xiandrena.

Xiandrena recites:
"This woman...the ice-maiden, or Taiele as she has come to be known, is at the center of this puzzle. She has told us in the past few days that "he" is keeping her captive. We found out in Talbot's tomb that the collar around her neck is the key to setting her free. Two days ago several citizens have figured out exactly how to remove her collar and now...there are cracks in it. "

Xiandrena recites:
"It seems that mending old grudges and forming new bonds cracks her collar. "

You ask, "Do we know who "he" is?"

Tollyfrock agrees with Xiandrena.

Xiandrena recites:
"But there still are many questions. Who has trapped her in that form and why? Are we being manipulated? Is Taiele everything she would like us to believe? Can a woman who insists that we forgive and form new friendships be dangerous? We know next to nothing about her even after Tollyfrock and several others questioned her while we hid in the tomb. She continues to insist that we work together. She also has insisted that "he" is gathering massive armies to the north and the more we argue and work separate the stronger "he" and his armies will get."

Asenora looks over at you and shakes her head.

Xiandrena looks over at you and shakes her head.

Meeshach nods to you.

You say, "A mysterious "he" then."

You sigh.

Exitialis scratches his head.

Xiandrena recites:
"Who is this man who is capable of raising cold armies, trapping young women and posessing our townfolk? Who is the raspy voice who continues to warn and insult us? Who is Taiele and what will happen if we remove her collar. "

Tollyfrock agrees with you.

Nilandia shifts her weight, trembling slightly.

Meeshach looks over at you and shakes his head.

Xiandrena recites:
"If someone does indeed want her trapped and we remove that binding, what will happen to us? Will "he" retaliate? I think it's best if we are all wary for when that moment comes. I do not forsee us removing her collar and things just coming to a halt. I believe once we remove her collar things are going to go swiftly downhill and we need to be prepared. "

Evelith nods in agreement to Xiandrena.

Tollyfrock agrees with Xiandrena.

Junarra nods to Xiandrena.

Exitialis nods to Xiandrena.

Xiandrena says, "That brings me to what this meeting is really about."

Xiandrena says, "We have ballistas in our town, but we don't use them during invasions."

You ask, "Should we interfere by removing that collar?"

You ask, "What if is none of our business?"

Drakam says, "They don't fire inwards." (to Xiandrena)

Xiandrena says, "Armies attacking Icemule make it our business."

Stoniemeadow smiles.

Xiandrena says, "There are things outside the gates, or have been recently." (to Drakam)

You work your fingers under your brown leather hat and scratch your head.

Rhylie asks, "Does she want it off?"

Xiandrena says, "She wants the collar off."

Svort says, "If that force is already leading us to be attacked, then it IS our business..."

Tollyfrock agrees with Rhylie.

Xiandrena says, "She doesn't want to be trapped."

Drakam says, "The last couple attacks have been showing up inside town." (to Xiandrena)

Meeshach says, "I might add to this if I am allowed. I have some additional information." (raspily)

You say, "Maybe the lady is leading us to be attacked."

Exitialis glances at Meeshach.

Nautemt turns an inquisitive ear towards Meeshach.

You say, "A sweet outside doesn't mean a sweet inside."

Xiandrena says, "Even if we are defending inside of the town it doesn't mean we should leave our gates unprotected."

Nautemt says, "Like the guards do."

Rhylie says, "I woudl jsut die if someone took mine." (softly, to Tollyfrock)

Xiandrena says, "And some people who may not be able to deal with the things inside the gates, can arm the ballistas."

Evelith says, "Of course not." (reasonably)

Marliya says, "We could ban her from Icemule for our protection, but that wouldnt be kind. And us Icemulians are known for our kindness." (softly)

Tollyfrock smiles.

Meeshach cocks his head.

Xiandrena recites:
"We also are meeting here tonight to discuss setting up a triage for empaths and clerics in Voln during invasions"

Obelious just left.

You say, "Only if there is some reason for her to be in Icemule."

You say, "If not, she is using us."

You say, "That's all I mean."

Tollyfrock recites:
"She was drawn to icemule in her dreams"

Evelith casually glances at Tollyfrock.

Junarra peers quizzically at Tollyfrock.

Asenora furrows her brow.

Tollyfrock nods.

Meeshach nods to Tollyfrock.

Evelith asks, "Her dreams?" (curiously)

You say, "Dreams can be sent as nightmares too."

(Xiandrena subtly nudges Tollyfrock forward.)

Nautemt asks, "Did Meeshach share his news?"

Xiandrena looks over at Nautemt and shakes her head.

Exitialis says, "We don't have many in the way of clerics."

Ishona raises an eyebrow in Tollyfrock's direction.

Tollyfrock recites:
"She dreamed of this place, and made her way towards us"

Evelith looks thoughtfully at Tollyfrock.

You say, "But that might be her captor's plan."

You say, "To get her here to bait us."

Silversoft looks thoughtfully at you.

Tollyfrock recites:
"She claims to hail from a small town called treetop"

You say, "Sometimes trusting isn't wise."

Anire nods slowly.

Tollyfrock recites:
"And she says that these flowers, enrage our enemy"

Tollyfrock taps a winter rose that he is wearing.

Silversoft says, "Mabbe iffen ye listen a bit.. ye'd learn." (to you)

Xiandrena says, "I agree that we might be being manipulated but we cannot just leave this woman frozen to wait for the next time someone attacks our town."

You say, "I have questions, so I ask them."

Evelith says, "He is likely taking any reason to attack." (to Xiandrena)

You say, "Seems everyone is ready to trust this lady."

Elronae frowns.

Nautemt nods to Evelith.

You say, "But I don't have a reason to trust her."

Asenora says, "Not necessarily." (to you)

Xiandrena says, "Well lets give whoever "he" is, a reason to look elsewhere to attack."

You say, "So I want to understand if there really is one."

Metadi says, "Or at the least, kill her enemies." (deeply)

Metadi shrugs.

Evelith looks thoughtfully at Xiandrena.

Meeshach says, "He will not leave her or leave here." (raspily)

Silversoft recites:
"Lets not get into this just yet"

Silversoft recites:
"Lets set up an organized system"

Tollyfrock agrees with Silversoft.

Evelith asks, "You wish to discuss triage now?"

Evelith smiles at Xiandrena.

You ask, "Is this lady a Truefolk?"

Nautemt recites:
"She did stress that old wounds be fixed and that the more love, the better"

Silversoft says, "We have a short time: white Haven has its Hunt in 20 minutes."

Meeshach says, "Your efforts are for naught until you understand the threat." (raspily)

Tollyfrock agrees with Nautemt.

Quildor says, "Seems like sound advice she is giving."

Xiandrena says, "She is not a truefolk." (to you)

Svort asks, "Does it even matter?"

Svort glances at you.

You ask, "What race then is she?"

Xiandrena asks, "Until we understand what?" (to Meeshach)

Nihala asks, "Perhaps I could discuss the results of the investigation, so far?"

Nihala cocks her head at Xiandrena.

Tollyfrock agrees with Nihala.

You nod to Nihala.

Asenora nods in agreement to Nihala.

You say, "If you would, Lady Mayor."

Xiandrena recites:
"A bit of quiet for the mayor, if you please."

Nautemt says, "Please tell us Lady Mayor."

Meeshach frowns.

You listen carefully to Nihala.

Nihala recites:
"Councilor O'Mallory has provided me with several pieces of information."

Asenora gazes with interest at Nihala.

The sky is filled with a blanket of low clouds, pale and unmoving. Sounds seem muffled and the air feels thick and takes on a quiet stillness.

Metadi turns an inquisitive ear towards Nihala.

Nautemt gazes up into the heavens.

Ichiko gazes up into the heavens.

You glance upward.

Nautemt's face turns slightly pale.

"Firstly, records have shown that we have had more snowstoms in the first few months of 5109, than at any other time."

Tollyfrock rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Nautemt nods to Nihala.

Svort nods.

Asenora furrows her brow.

You say, "Been a lot of them for sure."

Nahodaway asks, "Sa free snowshoes?" (quietly)

You nod.

Nihala recites:
"This is of great concern to me, and the rest of the Town Council, as you can imagine."

Nautemt asks, "Is the glacier moving?"

Xiandrena glances over at Nautemt and winces.

Nihala recites:
"Secondly, the matter of the ice patches"

Evelith cocks her head at Nihala.

Billowing gusts of heavy snow buffet your face.

Tollyfrock turns an inquisitive ear towards Nihala.

Xiandrena glances upward.

Asenora says, "It is the great thaw, come at last." (to Nautemt)

Asenora snickers to herself.

Nautemt is hugging herself.

Silversoft just nudged Asenora.

Nautemt gulps.

Asenora smirks.

Junarra draws the hood of her parka up around her face.

Nihala recites:
"We tried all methods, both magic and labor, to remove them. They remained resistant to all forces."

Xiandrena frowns.

Nautemt nods to Nihala.

Tollyfrock rubs his chin thoughtfully.

You say, "That's bad."

You frown.

Poloneus says, "Yet they're gone."

Nihala recites:
"You may be aware, they recently vanished. We do not know why."

Poloneus shrugs.

Evelith lightly drums her fingers on her leg.

Nihala recites:
"It was not due to our own interventions."

Exitialis nods to Nihala.

Tollyfrock rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Quildor says, "I think you're just stealthy." (to Poloneus)

Quildor says, "Oh."

Quildor grins.

Silversoft says, "They vanished at the last appearence of the maiden." (to Nihala)

Nautemt says, "One was just below the gemshop this afternoon."

Nihala nods to Silversoft.

Drakam asks, "Its been suggested they might be portals for "him". any chance your people found evidence of this?" (to Nihala)

Tollyfrock agrees with Drakam.

Nihala says, "Thirdly, the issue of the writing in the patches of snow..."

Xiandrena glances at a blanket of snow.

You nod to Nihala.

You say, "Someone likes to keep tabs with those messages."

Nahodaway says, "Yaller writin." (quietly)

Nahodaway nods.

Nautemt grins at Nahodaway.

A heavy snow falls, sculpting everything into round white curves.

Tollyfrock frowns.

"We have been watching these patches constantly since the investigation began, we have seen no one approach or touch them, yet the writing has changed."

Junarra nods slowly.

You say, "Well, could be magic of some kind."

Silversoft looks thoughtfully at you.

Androlinnea asks, "But hasn't the snow always changed during an invasion or when all were distracted?"

Nautemt says, "I'm glad to know the townsfolk are paying attention."

Xiandrena shivers.

Tollyfrock rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Evelith says, "Thank you, Madam Mayor." (to Nihala)

"To the matter of the constable and the jail riots. We have launched an internal investigation regarding the change in behaviour"

"We will make the results of this investigagion public."

Tollyfrock nods to Nihala.

Meeshach says, "THey are already Public." (raspily)

The Halfling deputy just arrived.

Asenora casually glances at the Halfling deputy.

Tollyfrock glances at the Halfling deputy.

Xiandrena surreptitiously glances at the Halfling deputy.

Buen cowers away from the Halfling deputy.

Asenora scrubs her hand through her very long fiery red hair in frustration.

You ask, "Has anyone caught a passing glance of this mysterious "he" at all?"

Nautemt glances at the Halfling deputy.

The deputy gives Meeshach a strange look.

Ainsley says, "I've been good for months now." (defensively, to the Halfling deputy)

Drakam says, "Just the champion."

Junarra says, "The only time I saw anything he was in shadows." (quietly, to you)

Nihala recites:
"Unfortunately, the weather and invasions, construction of the new resort have slowed."

Nautemt says, "It wasn't my fault last time." (to the Halfling deputy)

You nod to Junarra.

The Halfling deputy just went west.

Xiandrena glances westward.

You sigh.

Meeshach says, "I kknow that the Deputy is on His payroll." (raspily)

Nihala recites:
"The constuction workers are currently in talks with myself and the Wineberry family, with regards to an increase in wages. They are scared, as you can imagine."

Xiandrena nods to Tollyfrock.

Xiandrena clenches her jaw.

Nautemt nods to Nihala.

You say, "I have to say I don't like keys to collars being found in tombs."

Nihala recites:
"Lastly, the statue has, unfortunatly, resisted any attempts to transport it for further investigation."

Nihala smiles.

Nihala says, "Thank you for taking the time to listen."

Evelith nods to Nihala.

Nautemt says, "But it's got more cracks in it."

You say, "Smacks of the imprisoned being dead. Or the jailkeeper."

Xiandrena asks, "Is there anywhere we can bring her when she...wakes?"

Xiandrena cocks her head at Nihala.

The Halfling deputy just arrived.

Xiandrena squints at the Halfling deputy.

Ainsley smiles at the deputy.

Meeshach says, "She already knows were to go when she wakes. I made sure of that." (raspily)

The sky is full of billowing snowflakes.

The Halfling deputy just went east.

Nautemt asks, "Do you agree that the Voln spot is a good place for triage?" (to Nihala)

Meeshach says, "And I also ensured that Only I and Tolly know." (raspily)

The Halfling deputy just arrived.

Nihala says, "It would seem a naturally safe place, yes." (to Nautemt)

Asenora exclaims, "Stand still!" (to the Halfling deputy)

The Halfling deputy says, "I am looking for Xiandrena."

Nautemt nods to Nihala.

Nihala glances at the Halfling deputy.

Xiandrena says, "Oh bloody hell."

Farliegh says, "Considerin its what was always used before..."

Exitialis points at Xiandrena.

Farliegh stares off into space.

You blink at the Halfling deputy.

Asenora casually glances at Xiandrena.

Nihala asks, "For what reason?" (to the Halfling deputy)

The Halfling deputy squints.

Xiandrena says, "If you're here to arrest me..."

Evelith smiles at the deputy.

Stoniemeadow asks, "What do ye want with her?" (to the Halfling deputy)

Androlinnea says, "Oh dear."

Metadi glances at Xiandrena.

Nilandia takes a moment to observe the Halfling deputy.

Nautemt points at Xiandrena.

The Halfling deputy says, "Disturbing the peace."

Meeshach says, "Spell up people...its about to get busy." (raspily)

The Halfling deputy folds his arms across his chest.

Exitialis peers quizzically at the Halfling deputy.

Tollyfrock stares at the Halfling deputy.

You blink at the Halfling deputy.

Nautemt exclaims, "She's conducting a meeting!"

Xiandrena says, "I'll disturb your peace."

Xiandrena folds her arms over her chest.

Olgretien says, "The Mayor might not want you to do anythin rash." (deeply, to the Halfling deputy)

Metadi asks, "What pieace?" (deeply)

Xiandrena says, "I haven't done anything."

The Halfling deputy says, "Sounds like a threat to me."

You say, "The mayor herself is here."

Braelinn asks, "And this suprises you because?" (softly)

Nihala says, "She calls this meeting with my blessing, which should be enough." (to the Halfling deputy)

Nautemt turns to Xiandrena and cheers!

Tollyfrock moves to stand in front of Xiandrena.

Stoniemeadow says, "Yer disturbin me peace an yer Mayor is right der." (to the Halfling deputy)

Kennisawn waggles his fingers mystically at the deputy. The deputy isn't too impressed, really.

The Halfling deputy asks, "So Mayor Wineberry is now above the law?"

The Halfling deputy raises an eyebrow.

Meeshach says, "Over my dead body you traitor." (raspily, to the Halfling deputy)

Svort frowns.

Tollyfrock removes a glaes-tipped imflass claidhmore from in his weapon harness.

Exitialis nods to the Halfling deputy.

You blink.

Exitialis says, "Pretty much."

Ainsley says, "All us sylvans look alike. Lots of folks think I'm Xiandrena."

Xiandrena says, "No no...it's okay."

Meeshach moves to stand in front of Xiandrena.

Asenora says, "Nothing aside from the standard evening gathering." (defiantly, to the Halfling deputy)

Ainsley smiles at the deputy.

Ishona scoots over in front of Xiandrena.

Svort moves to stand in front of Xiandrena.

Ichiko says, "Umm.."

Xiandrena says, "I will go quietly."

Asenora snorts.

Svort clenches his fist.

Stoniemeadow begins chuckling at Ainsley!

Nihala says, "Which law do you speak of? No peace is being disturbed here." (to the Halfling deputy)

A squeaky voice from the crowd echoes, "Disturbing the peace! Disturbing the peace! Someone call for the Halfling deputy!"

Ainsley says, "We always sit in the town center, though."

You blink.

Asenora narrows her eyes.

Stoniemeadow says, "Oh good gravy."

Nautemt says, "The Lady Mayor and the Mister Mayor feel Xian should conduct this meeting."

Nahodaway asks, "What? Ye didn't git yer payoff?" (quietly, to the Halfling deputy)

Glatt glances at Xiandrena.

Tollyfrock agrees with Nautemt.

You ask, "Who is that make that accusation?"

Xiandrena says, "I'm not armed and I will comply with the deputy."

You blink.

Stoniemeadow asks, "Are ye sure?" (to Xiandrena)

Meeshach says, "I'm telling you, The Deputy works for the enemy and is a traitor to Icemule." (raspily)

You say, "Won't even show himself."

Xiandrena asks, "Where do you want me to go?" (to the Halfling deputy)

Asenora shouts, "You incompetent lazy furfoot!" (to the Halfling deputy)

Xiandrena folds her arms at the waist.

Nihala furrows her brow.

Nautemt nods to Meeshach.

Asenora's eyelid begins to twitch and quiver uncontrollably.

Meeshach says, "I have that from Taiele herself." (raspily)

The Halfling deputy stops as a tiny halfling hurries in. They have a quiet conversation before both turn around, drawing their weapons.
With great ease, the Halfling deputy grabs Xiandrena and shackles her wrists.
"There you are! I got a tip that I'd find you here," says the Halfling deputy.
The Halfling deputy then drags her off.

Nautemt exclaims, "Save Xian!"

Stoniemeadow says, "Yer not goin alone."

Svort swears under his breath.

Stoniemeadow says, "Gah."

Stoniemeadow just went east.

The Halfling deputy dusts off his hands.

Asenora gnashes her teeth in frustration!

Nautemt flails her arms about.

You exclaim, "That was unnecessary!"

Nautemt stands up.

Buen just came trudging in.

You exclaim, "She was going!"

Nahodaway says, "Hang the depity." (quietly)

Tollyfrock asks, "What now, Miss?" (to Nihala)

Nautemt exclaims, "Mayor Nihala - save her!"

Svort mutters under his breath.

Exitialis asks, "Can't she be pardoned?"

Meeshach asks, "Are you incapable of running your own town?" (raspily, to Nihala)

Nihala says, "Excuse me while I try to negotiate."

Nahodaway says, "Who cares boots the Mayor, save Xia." (quietly)

Ishona asks, "Can't ye get her out of jail, Mayor?"

Nautemt exclaims, "Commute her sentance - give a pardon! Do something!"

Nihala asks, "Excuse me?" (to Meeshach)

Tollyfrock says, "Manners, lad." (to Meeshach)

Nihala says, "You are very foolish indeed, if you believe my power extends beyond all power." (to Meeshach)

Ainsley says, "So what else has been found out? I hear so little, and the bits and snatches I have heard have had me worried about you all."

You say, "Maybe the deputy has been drinking."

Nihala says, "It is up to us to work together." (to Meeshach)

Nahodaway says, "Don't look at ME. I voted fer the other one." (quietly)

Nahodaway laughs!

Tollyfrock says, "Pardon him Miss, tension runs high." (to Nihala)

Nautemt exclaims, "Xian just got arrested and I think it's part of a plot!"

Meeshach says, "Your the Mayor...if you can't lead, then let someone who can, lead." (raspily)

Nautemt gasps in terrified panic, trembling and flailing her arms about!

Meeshach points at Tollyfrock.

A fine verdigris moss clings to the spirit, speckling its trunk and shrouding its cooly glowing eyes.
